Prama LLC (“Prama,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates backgrounderase.com and related services, including our web application, APIs, and associated tools (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. We designed this policy to be straightforward: you keep ownership of your images, we do not train on them unless you explicitly opt in, and we do not retain uploaded images long term by default.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

  • You retain ownership of your uploaded images and generated outputs.
  • We do not use your uploaded images for model training by default.
  • We only use uploaded images for model training if you explicitly enable “AI Training Data” in your account settings at backgrounderase.com/account.

We may use and retain information as needed to comply with applicable law, lawful requests, court orders, tax obligations, and other legal requirements.

2.5 For Model Training Only If You Opt In

We do not use your uploaded images to train, fine-tune, validate, or improve our models unless you explicitly choose to allow that by turning on “AI Training Data” in your account settings.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in the limited circumstances described below.

3.1 Service Providers

We may share information with trusted vendors and service providers that help us operate the Services, such as providers that support payments, authentication, cloud infrastructure, analytics, customer support, and security.

  • Stripe, for payment processing and billing support.
  • Firebase and related infrastructure providers, for authentication and application support.

3.2 Legal, Security, and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to:

  • comply with law or a valid legal process;
  • protect our rights, users, systems, or property;
  • investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or
  • respond to emergencies involving safety or illegal activity.

3.3 Business Transfers

If Prama is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal obligations.

3.4 Aggregated or De-Identified Information

We may use and share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you for analytics, research, service improvement, and business reporting.

4. Your Choices and Controls

4.1 AI Training Data Setting

Model training is opt-in. If you do nothing, your uploaded images are not used for training.

You can enable or disable this setting by navigating to backgrounderase.com/account and managing “AI Training Data”.

4.2 Account Information

You can access and update certain account information through your account settings.

4.3 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account using the tools we provide or by contacting us. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, tax, or recordkeeping purposes.

4.4 Marketing and Cookies

Depending on your location, you may have choices about analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or marketing communications. Browser settings and applicable consent tools may also let you control certain tracking technologies.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Account and Billing Information

We retain account, subscription, billing, and support information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business records, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

5.2 Uploaded Images

We do not retain uploaded images long term by default.

Unless you explicitly opt in to “AI Training Data”, uploaded images are retained for no more than 24 hours for security, abuse prevention, operational reliability, and troubleshooting.

After that period, images are deleted from our standard processing systems, except where longer retention is required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the Services, or enforce our agreements.

5.3 If You Opt In to AI Training Data

If you enable “AI Training Data”, the images covered by that setting may be retained and used for model development, evaluation, improvement, and training. In that case, retention may be longer than 24 hours as reasonably necessary for those purposes, unless otherwise stated in a separate written agreement.

5.4 Operational and Security Logs

We retain logs and related operational records for as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, service reliability, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and internal recordkeeping.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and uploaded content.

These measures may include protections for data in transit, access controls, logging, monitoring, and security reviews appropriate to the nature of the Services. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials, API keys, and systems that connect to our Services. If you believe your account or API key has been compromised, please contact us promptly.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers, such as contractual protections and vendor commitments designed to protect personal information.
