BackgroundErase Studio is the main interface for removing backgrounds directly in your browser. The layout is designed to be simple and fast: upload an image, wait a moment for processing, and download the result.
Uploading an image
You can add an image to Studio in several ways:
- Drag and drop an image anywhere in the Studio window.
- Click Upload image and choose a file from your device.
- Copy and paste an image directly into the page.
As soon as an image is uploaded, BackgroundErase automatically removes the background using our segmentation model. Processing usually takes only a few seconds.
Clearing or replacing the image
If you want to start over with a different image, click the X icon in the top-right corner of the preview. This clears the current image so you can upload another one.
Before / after preview
Studio includes a Before / After toggle that lets you compare the original image with the background-removed result. This makes it easy to verify that edges, hair, and fine details were handled correctly.
Downloading your result
Once the background is removed, Studio exports the result as a Full resolution PNG, the highest-quality version available and closer to the original image size.
Note: Full-resolution downloads may have daily limits depending on your plan.
Editing tools
After the background is removed, Studio provides tools for replacing or customizing the background.
Background replacement
You can replace the transparent background with a solid color.
- Select one of the colored circles shown at the top of the interface.
- Use the color picker to choose any color you want.
The color picker allows you to specify any RGB value, giving you full control over the background color for your exported image.
